Which anchor is best? Our answer – Alycia Lane!

                          Alycia Lane

Alycia Lane

is an open-hearted and friendly reporter; you ‘ll love her. I think she belongs to the notion of traditional anchor, the all-knowing, all-seeing person who speaks from on high.

The CBS Evening News is a TV institution, having some of the most well-known journalists in the world anchor it through its many decades on the air. Alycia Lane is anchor of CBS 3. She is featured on her weekly series, A Woman’s View that takes a look at issues unique to women.
Lane is of Puerto Rican descent on her mother’s side and Welsh descent on her father’s. She is a native of Long Island, New York. She has a Master’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, and undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany where she graduated with honors. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and speaks fluent Spanish. In high school, Lane was a Sachem Flaming Arrow Cheerleader. Lane enjoys physical fitness and has a love of animals.
Active in the community, Lane volunteers her time locally to support the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure held each Mother’s Day in Philadelphia and has also been instrumental in bringing the message of early detection of breast cancer to the Spanish-speaking community as moderator of the first Latinas For The Cure workshop in 2004.
