Tudor Cisu Gets a Head Start on Promising Career in Medical Research
Romanian born Tudor Cisu already knows what he wants to do with his life. The 19 year old sophomore at Binghamton University in New York State is already well on his way to becoming a physician scientist and unlocking medical mysteries that could potentially save countless lives.
Even before entering Binghamton, Tudor Cisu was already setting the groundwork for his career path. In his early teens, he had already brought home medals from the National Latin Exam. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if sic itur ad astra (”thus you shall go to the stars”) held particular meaning for him.
While only a high school junior, Tudor Cisu approached a biophysics professor at Syracuse University if he could help out with research. That initiative landed Cisu a job as a Project Aide at SUNY Upstate Medical University. In 2008, Tudor Cisu spent a summer volunteering at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California before even setting foot at Binghamton.
